the future

today was a good day all in all...

the psych test wasn't as hard as i thought it would be
one of the 2 math HW problems that i didn't know how to do had a misprint so it wouldn't be counted

and.. COME TOGETHER WASHINGTON!

it's an event that has two parts: a showcase of what the UW is doing, researching, and developing through exhibits, and a program with BILL GATES III as keynote speaker (i got to see BILL GATES!) and a special presentation where they had LIVE video stream from 3 other UW programs. one was UW worldwide in Beijing, UW Rome, and UW Yakima (that's another part of washington)

i thought it would be boring at first but man, i learned a whole lot!

lemme talk about the program first. the live video was over a software developed by UW people that is (duh!) faster than regular DSL. here's a comparison: DSL transmits 0.02 mb/s. this technology transmits 19.something mb/s! and i thought DSL was fast.. hahahaha bet you did too! :D

Bill Gates is a terrific speaker! funny and witty! he gave a great speech about the future of Washington and the UW. he said that by having a good university will you be able to have a good community and the other way around. maybe that's why the philippines isn't doing so well. you see our educational system? we have a really really bad situation.. but i guess the government is.. trying..(?) i am really glad that i got to come to the UW; i can see all that the Philippines is missing.. i now have a great burden to help my country.. but i don't know if i would be too late..

the showcases were awesome too!
